Gust­avo Du­damel leads the Los Angeles Phil­har­mon­ic and the Simón Bolivar Sym­phony Or­ches­tra of Venezuela, com­bined with mul­tiple choirs and so­loists in Mahler’s Sym­phony No. 8, “Sym­phony of a Thou­sand”, the apo­theosis of the Ro­mantic sym­phony.

This live per­form­ance put about 1,300 mu­si­cians on the stage in Ca­ra­cas, Venezuela, giv­ing North Amer­ic­an audi­ences a chance to wit­ness Du­damel mak­ing mu­sic on his home turf.

LA Phil LIVE with Gust­avo Du­damel from Ca­ra­cas, Venezuela is an im­mers­ive sight and sound ex­per­i­ence, fea­tur­ing a full con­cert per­form­ance with the LA Phil and Du­damel, hos­ted by award-win­ning act­or John Lithgow, broad­cast live from Ca­ra­cas, Venezuela. The con­cert is seen in more than 450 theat­ers across the U.S. and 26 theatres in Canada, and the broad­cast also in­cludes be­hind-the-scenes in­ter­views with Du­damel, the LA Phil mu­si­cians, re­hears­al foot­age and a live post-con­cert Q&A; with Du­damel.
