Khatia Bunitishvili in Kiev
Mussorgsky - Pictures at an Exhibition
Khatia Buniatishvili's guest appearance in Fall 2015 at the International Center of Culture and Arts in Kiev features the piano suite PICTURES AT AN EXHIBITION, that was written by Mussorgsky in honour of his deceased friend, the architect Victor Hartmann.
Buniatishvilis musical promenade reveals an extraordinary thrilling interpretation, accompanied by impressions of Kiev’s cultural life including visits at artists friends and the current mayor of Kiev, the former heavyweight champion, Vitali Klitschko.

Mozartwoche 2015
Horse Dressage by Bartabas Set to Sacred Music
BFMI took the opportunity to record Davide penitente, a wonderful piece performed during Mozart Week 2015. The spectacle combines an outstanding beautiful interpretation of Mozart’s music with the exceptional art of horse dressage. It is staged by the unique French equestrian choreographer Bartabas and his team from the Académie équestre de Versailles. Bartabas’s art can hardly be categorized – his interpretation of Mozart’s music brings together horses and human beings, music, movement, light and costumes in a poetic synthesis of all the arts. In the Felsenreitschule he innovatively focuses the limelight on the stars for which this unique venue was created over three centuries ago: horses.

The cast includes Les Musiciens du Louvre Grenoble, the soloists Christiane Karg, Marianne Crebassa, Stanislas de Barbeyrac, and the Salzburger Bachchor under the baton of Marc Minkowsky.

Broadcast dates:

ORF 2: Sunday FEB 8, 10:15 a.m. + Monday FEB 9, 03.20 p.m.
