This bright and ro­mantic pro­duc­tion from the Staat­sop­er unter den Linden, Ber­lin is de­signed for them by dir­ect­or and cho­reo­graph­er Vin­cent Pa­ter­son and Daniel Bar­en­boim con­ducts the Staat­skapelle Ber­lin with sub­tlety and vari­ety. Also star­ring: Afredo Daza, Chris­tof Fisc­hess­er, Rémy Corazza and Arttu Kataja.

This co-pro­duc­tion with the Los Angles Op­era premiered Septem­ber 30^th, 2006 and proved to be a big hit. The broad­cast on Arte achieved the highest num­ber of view­ers an op­era trans­mit­ted on Arte ever reached be­fore. In Ber­lin, an­oth­er 22.000 people ex­per­i­enced the op­era live and open air.
