SAT 10. SEP 2011, 3 p.m.
The Festival’s very first live transmission of a concert from the Beethoven Hall to a large screen in the Old Town of Bonn took place in 2007. Bernhard Fleischer Moving Images is proud to support the Beethovenfest Bonn once again. The following list comprises the screenings in the last years:

2007: Gustavo Dudamel & The Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela

2008: Kurt Masur & Orchestre National de France

2009: Paavo Järvi & Deutsche Kammer-philharmonie Bremen

2010: Sol Gabetta & Paavo Järvi & Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie
This year’s concert presented on a large screen was called ‘Fateful’: Hélène Grimaud returned to Bonn to play Beethoven’s piano concerto no. 4 together with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra under its music director Manfred Honeck. This most lyrical of Beethoven’s five piano concertos, which places unusual demands on the soloist, follows Tchaikovsky’s symphony no. 5, composed in just a few weeks in 1888. Like Beethoven’s Fifth it focuses on the battle against fate as a secret programme.
